Work Experience

• Dr Maria Shabbir Saria has more than 20 years of surgical experience. She has recently joined Zulekha Hospital, Dubai as Specialist General Surgeon. She is skilled in performing all general surgery procedures both open and laparoscopic like Gall Bladder Surgeries, Appendix, and Hernia. Breast surgery has been an important part of her training.
• She is a Graduate and a gold medalist from Peshawar, Pakistan. Her qualification is MBBS, FCPS, and FMAS. Dr Maria has more than 20 years of fellowship experience. She did her residency training from Civil Hospital, Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi and passed FCPS General Surgery from college of Physicians and Surgeon, Pakistan in 2002.
• She then joined Hamdard College of Medicine & Dentistry and Hamdard University Hospital as Consultant General Surgeon and part of the Teaching Faculty. She worked as different teaching positions from 2003 till 2017 and resigned as Professor of Surgery.
• She has also worked as Consultant Surgeon in Burhani Hospital, Karachi, from 2002 – 2017 and Parkline Hospital, Karachi from 2010 – 2017.

• She moved to Dubai in 2017. Worked as Specialist General Surgeon in Medcare Women and Children Hospital, Dubai from 2017 – 2019 and Emirates Hospital Group from 2019 – 2022.
• Dr Maria has special interest in the management of breast diseases and can perform surgeries for and malignant Breast problems. 
• There are a large number of women seeking her expertise for perianal problems like Hemorrhoids and fissure, fistula, pilonidal sinus. She utilizes advance and minimally invasive techniques like laser and THD for the treatment of these problems. She is also available for minor surgical problems like cysts, lipomas, ingrowing toe nail, and excision of waste.
